Education

1972: Graduated from Edison High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Men's Tennis Team.

1976: Graduated from Lafayette College, Easton, PA, with a BA with Honors in Biology.  (Dr Bloom also earned 2 varsity letters in Tennis at Lafayette.)

1979:  Received a Masters of Science in Biology from Baylor University, Waco, TX. Dr Bloom completed 2 years of a  PhD. program in Zoology at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK..

1985: Received a DMD degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa.

1986: Completed a General Practice Residency at the Olin E. Teague Veteran's Administration Hospital, Temple, TX. 1986: Entered private practice with Dr. Hyman Weiss. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Weiss retired and Dr. Bloom took over the practice.

1988: Dr. Bloom's wife, Dr. Gari Bloom, entered the practice upon completion of her General Practice Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY, NY. 1989: Continued formal education in the Prosthodontics post-graduate degree program at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY.

1993: Completed Prosthodontic training and continued as a part time faculty member at Montefiore's Department of Prosthodontics until 1997, while maintaining his private practice in New Brunswick.

1999:Joined the staff of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ as a volunteer where he taught post-graduate residents as an attending instructor in the Department of Dentistry. Dr. Charles Bloom also served as the team dentist for the Rutgers University Athletic Department from 1989 to 2000.

When not plying his trade, Dr. Bloom enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Gari Bloom, his daughter and son-in-law, Ali and Austin, and his son, Mack, as well as playing basketball, reading about foreign affairs, fishing and bird watching.

When Dr. Bloom is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys spending time with family, including her husband Charles, daughter and son-in-law, Ali and Austin, and son, Mack. Her hobbies include biking, cooking, traveling, volunteerism, reading, pilates and walking their dog, a mauzer named Tux.

Laura has been Bloom & Bloom’s Patient Care Coordinator since 2018. She handles all front office responsibilities with expertise, but patient care is her top priority. Patients benefit from her knowledge and are made to feel at ease by her kind and caring demeanor. Laura has a passion for what she does and is always on the lookout for continuing education opportunities to expand her dental knowledge. Thanks to Laura we all not only work hard but have fun doing it! Laura is a graduate of North Brunswick High School. She has three adult children and a granddaughter who she loves spending time with. Laura resides in East Brunswick with her husband, Richard. She is incredibly creative...and modest!

Pat joined Bloom & Bloom in 2023 and quickly became a valuable member of our office family, seamlessly taking on administrative responsibilities. She works tirelessly to maximize patients’ insurance benefits and wants all of our patients to feel welcome and
valued. Pat brings a wealth of knowledge to her position. Before pivoting to the front office
in 2019, she cared for patients as a dental hygienist for 40 years, licensed in local anesthesia. Pat, as well as the rest of the office, is certified in CPR and the use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator); practice drills in both life-saving techniques are periodically on the agenda at our monthly staff meetings. Outside the office Pat likes cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with her adult children in Philadelphia, Pa.

Patti retired from her position as Office Administrator in July 2023, after almost 25 years with Bloom & Bloom. She continues to afford us the benefit of her invaluable knowledge and experience. Patti is missed by patients and staff and all who had the pleasure of knowing her and working with her!

Nancy has been a dental assistant for almost 40 years (!) and values the myriad experiences and relationships she has had during her assisting career. Nancy joined Bloom & Bloom in 2005 and has been by Dr Charles’ side ever since. It took her but a minute to learn to assist a left-handed dentist. Nancy is extremely skilled as a chairside assistant and oversees our supply inventory and the maintenance and smooth operation of the back office. Her sunny personality helps make our patients feel at ease. Nancy resides in her hometown of North Brunswick with her husband. Together they raised two beautiful daughters. Nancy loves the outdoors, relaxing around a firepit, and being with family and friends.

With over 20 years of experience, Jamie has been Dr Gari’s dental assistant since 2014. Jamie graduated from Spotswood High School and attended Middlesex County College, where she received her Dental Radiology License. One of the reasons, among many, that Jamie enjoys working at Bloom & Bloom is because the staff truly feels like a family and we extend that same feeling to our patients. Jamie brings a positive vibe, friendliness and a great sense of humor to work with her every day. She is a big reason why patients feel so comfortable in our practice. Jamie is happily married to Gabe, has two children, Makayla and Mikey, and a dog, Nala.

Dedicated to promoting smiles and optimal oral health, Meridith is an outstanding hygienist devoted to delivering compassionate care. With 26 years of experience, 18 of them working with Bloom & Bloom, she brings a wealth of knowledge and commitment to excellence in every patient interaction. Meridith works tirelessly to make sure all hygienists at Bloom & Bloom are on the same page with the goal of delivering the highest quality, most up-to-date, patient-centered care. Meridith earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree from Middlesex County College in 1998. Recognizing the importance of ongoing education, she actively pursues professional development opportunities. Meridith resides in Hillsborough with her husband of 16 years and their three children. They enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors and on any given weekend you can find them cheering from the sidelines at one of the many activities that their kids are involved in.

Although Dottie officially retired in August 2022, after 30 years at Bloom & Bloom, don’t be surprised if the door opens and Dottie greets you! We are fortunate that Dottie is not quite ready to put her scalers down once and for all and are grateful that she continues to see patients from time to time. In her semi-retirement, Dottie serves on the Town Clock advisory board. She enjoys playing pickleball and golf....and shopping on QVC!

It is always “Friends and Family Day” at Bloom & Bloom. Leann has been greeting patients with, “Hello, my name is Leann and I will be taking excellent care of you today!” since 2022, when her Friend and long-time Bloom & Bloom hygienist, Meridith, introduced her to Dr Charles and Dr Gari. Leann started her dental career working as a chairside assistant for several years before graduating from Ferris State University with an Associate of Applied Science Degree and a Certificate in Dental Hygiene. When Leann was little her siblings always left their dental visits upset because they invariably had cavities. It is one of the reasons Leann chose the dental hygiene profession. Leann has always had a passion for working with her hands and is very detail oriented. She will continue to care for her patients as if they are Family. Leann can’t wait to work as a team with you so you can reach your dental goals. Your overall health is her #1 priority! In Leann’s spare time she enjoys doing artsy projects, landscaping, hitting the gym and playing sports.

Allegra has been Bloom & Bloom’s “Saturday hygienist” since 2022. Allegra is licensed in local anesthesia and certified to deliver nitrous oxide sedation. She is incredibly conscientious and dedicated to her patients. Allegra is a 2014 CUNY New York City College of Technology graduate and is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. She has worked in the dental field since 2008, when she began her dental career as a chairside assistant. Allegra is also the voice and creative force behind our web and social media presence, and various other projects. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring new parks with her husband and children, and reading.
